Understanding Humility

The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever. (Psa 37:29 RNWEB)
My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will serve me. (Psa 101:6 RNWEB)

This is the reason it’s important to hold our post, be committed, not just convicted by words but showing our conviction by what we practice and the tenants that we hold true through our works. We are measured by what we do, not the seemingly good intentions we think or say, it’s only those that are truly righteous and faithful that will inherit the coming Kingdom.

But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psa 37:11 RNWEB)

Who are the humble?

In this study we are going to examine the scriptures to look at one of the characteristics that Elohim looks for in all of us, humility. By examining both old and new testament scriptures we will answer the following questions.

  • What does it mean to be humble?
  • What role does arrogance and pride play?
  • What’s the difference between arrogance, pride, and confidence?
  • Who receives Elohim’s grace?
  • How do we live up to Elohim’s expectations?
  • How do we learn to walk in humility?
  • How do we know Elohim’s will?
  • How do we receive the promise of spiritual liberty and stability?

We all have an opinion of ourselves that’s often exalted to some degree, those who have a low opinion of themselves are mostly miserable, which is not natural. There is also a level of exaltation that we can emanate that will project arrogance and pride. However, is this acceptable to Elohim, what should we be emanating?

One of the goals of this study is to put us in a position to do a self analysis to gauge where we are spiritually and how to conduct ourselves in a delightful manor before YAH.

I will give you thanks with my whole heart. Before the elohims, I will sing praises to you. I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your Word above all. IN THE DAY THAT I CALLED, YOU ANSWERED ME. YOU ENCOURAGED ME WITH STRENGTH IN MY SOUL. (Psa 138:1-3 RNWEB)

You encouraged me with strength literally means to make bold. There is a difference in what we learned over the course of our lifetime, and what we learn in the Sinaitic culture. Elohim makes all his sons into his glory and there is no weakness or infirmity in any of the sons of Sinai. Most people who are interested in entering the covenant are weak, both male and female, the word says to come as you are, however we are not supposed to stay that way. We must be transformed by the renewing of our mind, the washing of the water of the word. If we don’t submerse ourselves in the culture and the word of Elohim we will not endure and will eventually fall away.

All the kings of the earth will give you thanks, YAH, for they have heard the words of your mouth. Yes, they will sing of the ways of YAH; for great is YAH’s glory. For though YAH is high, YET HE LOOKS AFTER THE LOWLY; BUT THE PROUD, HE KNOWS FROM AFAR. (Psa 138:4-6 RNWEB)

YAH resists the proud and removes them, however he looks after those walking in humility.

The word Lowly in Hebrew is “Shaphal” which means one who is humble, meek, able to be reformed and corrected, open to wisdom, and able to be guided.

Lets reread verse six with the proper understanding of lowly.

Yet he looks after those who have humbled themselves for correction to bring about transformation. (Psa 138:6)

The secular definition for the word humble is modest and unassuming in attitude and behavior, respectful, feeling or showing respect, lowly, relatively low in rank, and without pretense. One who is unassuming, modest, acting in a way that does not assume superiority.

Many different religious bodies have taught mankind to walk very lightly, meek, and not to worry about defending their integrity, and though there is some truth to these tenets, the law and the prophets teach us that when we are brought into question, we should defend ourselves vigorously, not revealing the secrets of another, but laying before our accuser those things which are true and absolute least our ill repute be communicated abroad. There is a process mandated in scripture which we must understand and wholly apply, not just fragments, by applying just parts of the process were no better than those who walk unrighteously.

For the perverse is an abomination to YAH, but he shares his secret counsel with the upright (righteous). (Pro 3:32 RNWEB)

The only way we can understand the mind of Elohim is through the Hebraic culture, we can’t just read the Bible with the wrong mindset and understand what’s being taught. We need to read, but also comprehend it properly which will bring conviction, and if we act on our conviction, we will walk in the truths we learn. By doing it, we gain experience, and then we will be challenged to test our fortitude and conviction of his word. This process and opportunities will determine if were spiritually rooted or not, most will fail, because there walking with a superficial or erroneous understanding which only serves to impress people. It takes time and diligence to understand the nucleus of Elohim’s operation. If we are diligent and walk with a sincere heart he will reveal things to us as were ready to receive them.

YAH’s curse is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the righteous. Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble. (Pro 3:33-34 RNWEB)

He gives grace to the humble, those who are receptive to advice and council for the purpose of transformation. Only we can make the decision to change when something is revealed, no one else will be held responsible. Change is good, especially when it brings about the seeds and fruit of righteousness, unfortunately many of us resist change and don’t take responsibility for our own actions.

The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools. (Pro 3:35 RNWEB)
WHEN PRIDE COMES, THEN COMES SHAME, but with humility comes wisdom. (Pro 11:2 RNWEB)

Pride means satisfaction with self, the happy satisfied feeling someone experiences when they achieve something special that other people admire, “He took great pride in his work”. Proper sense (not inflated sense) of own value, the correct level or respect for the importance and value of your personal character, life efforts or achievements.

Everything Elohim created was good and in some places he said it was very good, he was proud of his creation, so there’s a good and bad pride. When we are proud of our accomplishments, not to the point of being haughty, there will always be people that are indecisive, envious, jealous, vulnerable, and volatile, who will assume that were being arrogant.

Many people are the sum of someone else’s perception. They adopt and conform to someone else’s view of themselves rather than creating a healthy view based on their own analysis. We are a composition of our consistent thoughts, which we have the power to change. We need to redefine ourselves based on the word of Elohim, and be more concerned with meeting his expectations.

Go your way–eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for Elohim has already accepted your works. Let your garments be always white, and don’t let your head lack oil. Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your life of vanity, which he has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity: for that is your portion in life, and in your labor in which you labor under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you are going. (Ecc 9:7-10 RNWEB)

Elohim told Man to be fruitful, multiple, and have dominion over the face of the earth. Sadly, our ill thoughts and fallacies in life will generally be blamed on something or someone else, most people never take responsibility for their own actions, if we don’t hold ourselves accountable for these things there is no possibility of transformation by the word of truth.

Lets continue with the definition of pride.

Feeling of superiority, a haughty attitude shown by somebody who believes, often unjustifiably, that he or she is better than others.

This is talking about arrogant individuals which don’t accept correction or admit when they are wrong.

Source of personal satisfaction, something such as an achievement or possession that somebody feels especially pleased and satisfied with. For example, “He had a great deal of pride in his children.”

Elohim wants us to have a reasonable amount of pride in our accomplishments.

The fear of YAH is to hate evil. I HATE PRIDE, ARROGANCE, THE EVIL WAY, AND THE PERVERSE MOUTH. (Pro 8:13 RNWEB)

The pride being talked about is the feeling of superiority, a haughty attitude shown by somebody who believes there better than others, often unjustifiably.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the plunder with the proud. (Pro 16:18-19 RNWEB)
This is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Most High, which is come on my master the king: that you shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field, and you shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and shall be wet with the dew of the sky, and seven times shall pass over you; until you know that THE MOST HIGH RULES IN THE KINGDOM OF MEN, AND GIVES IT TO WHOEVER HE WILL. Whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be sure to you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule. Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of your tranquillity. (Dan 4:24-27 RNWEB)

The Most High knows how to debase the proud, and we need to be able to distinguish and separate those who are competent and bold with validity to those who are arrogant and proud unjustifiably.

All this came on the king Nevukhadnetzar. At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babel. THE KING SPOKE AND SAID, IS NOT THIS GREAT BABEL, WHICH I HAVE BUILT FOR THE ROYAL DWELLING PLACE, BY THE MIGHT OF MY POWER AND FOR THE GLORY OF MY MAJESTY? (Dan 4:28-30 RNWEB)

This is an example of arrogance, having an exaggerated sense of ones own importance or abilities, the king said, “by the might of MY power and for the glory of MY majesty.”

While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from the sky, [saying], O king Nevukhadnetzar , to you it is spoken: The kingdom is departed from you: and you shall be driven from men; and they dwelling shall be with the animals of the field; YOU SHALL BE MADE TO EAT GRASS AS OXEN; AND SEVEN TIMES SHALL PASS OVER YOU; UNTIL YOU KNOW THAT THE MOST HIGH RULES IN THE KINGDOM OF MEN, AND GIVES IT TO WHOEVER HE WILL. The same hour was the thing fulfilled on Nevukhadnetzar : and he was driven from men, and ate grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky, until his hair was grown like eagles’ [feathers], and his nails like birds’ [claws]. (Dan 4:31-33 RNWEB)

The Most High demonstrated that he truly was in charge of the affairs of men and showed the King that only he deserves the Glory.

At the end of the days I, Nevukhadnetzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or tell him, What do you? (Dan 4:34-35 RNWEB)

The Most High effectively humbled the king, who was now giving all the glory to him.

The king was an extremely confident individual which is often construed for arrogance, there is nothing wrong with being confident, however he let his confidence turn into arrogance when he took credit for everything that took place in his kingdom.

At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and brightness returned to me; and my counselors and my masters sought to me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me. NOW I, NEVUKHADNETZAR, PRAISE AND EXTOL AND HONOR THE KING OF HEAVEN; FOR ALL HIS WORKS ARE TRUTH, AND HIS WAYS JUSTICE; AND THOSE WHO WALK IN PRIDE HE IS ABLE TO ABASE. (Dan 4:36-37 RNWEB)
He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them, “WHEN YOU ARE INVITED BY ANYONE TO A MARRIAGE FEAST, DON’T SIT IN THE BEST SEAT, SINCE PERHAPS SOMEONE MORE HONORABLE THAN YOU MIGHT BE INVITED BY HIM, AND HE WHO INVITED BOTH OF YOU WOULD COME AND TELL YOU, ‘MAKE ROOM FOR THIS PERSON.’ THEN YOU WOULD BEGIN, WITH SHAME, TO TAKE THE LOWEST PLACE. (Luk 14:7-9 RNWEB)

We need to be careful not to esteem ourselves more highly than we should, displaying arrogance. Yahshua tells us to be abased when we come in, take the lowest position and be esteemed to a higher place by those around us.

We can’t come into the Kingdom with a haughty mind thinking that we will hold a position of respect according to our own estimation rather than the one who gave us entrance. With this type of an attitude, we won’t make it into the kingdom at all.

But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you. (Luk 14:10 RNWEB)

We will learn how to achieve humility and remove arrogance if we are currently walking contrary to these precepts.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luk 14:11 RNWEB)

Yahshua is teaching humility from the Torah, he had to learn and understand it just like all the other prophets.

DON’T EXALT YOURSELF IN THE PRESENCE OF THE KING, OR CLAIM A PLACE AMONG GREAT MEN; for it is better that it be said to you, “Come up here,” than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, whom your eyes have seen. (Pro 25:6-7 RNWEB)

The Apostles and disciples in the New Testament are teaching from and quoting the books from Genesis to Malachi. They reminded the children of Yisrael what virtue, righteousness, and humility was all about. If your associated with an ecclesiastical organization that teaches the culture and doctrines of the old testament are not for today, then when you read the New Testament your going to think it’s new, however it’s not, everything in the new testament is being taught from the Old Testament books and the only way to comprehend properly what’s in the New Testament is by first understanding the books from Genesis to Malachi. The books called the New Testament were not even compiled and assembled until around 367 CE, the only possible books the Apostles and disciples could have referenced 300 years earlier are those of the Old Testament.

For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isa 57:15 RNWEB)
In the fear of YAH is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children. (Pro 14:26 RNWEB)

This can literally be read: The Fear of YAH is strong confidence, certainty, and to know his word is true; for his children there will be a place of refuge.

The wicked flee when no one pursues; but THE RIGHTEOUS ARE AS BOLD AS A LION. (Pro 28:1 RNWEB)

This could be read the righteous are as bold, confident, fearless, sure, certain, valiant, and courageous as a lion. From the worlds point of view someone that has these traits would be seen as arrogant, because they have not developed these skills, nor can they even relate to people in this manner. Being certain and knowing your processes are going to work is not arrogance. Your being arrogant when you believe in something in an unjustifiable manner holding a level of supremacy.

When we accuse someone of being arrogant or proud without facts, were making a false accusation. Usually it’s the person bringing the accusation that’s at fault because they are not aligned or calibrated to the word of Elohim on what arrogance, humility, confidence, boldness, and surety really means scripturally.

Then what advantage does the Hebrew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of Elohim. (Rom 3:1-2 RNWEB)

The advantage the Hebrew has is that the oracles of Elohim were committed to there care.

I tell the truth in the Anointed. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from the Anointed for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh, WHO ARE YISRA’ELI’S; WHOSE IS THE ADOPTION, THE GLORY, THE COVENANTS, THE GIVING OF THE LAW, THE SERVICE, AND THE PROMISES; (Rom 9:1-4 RNWEB)

It’s Yisrael that received the promises and whose task it is to guard and teach the covenant to all nations.

of whom are the fathers, and from whom is the Anointed as concerning the flesh, who is over all, Elohim, blessed forever. Amein. But it is not as though the word of Elohim has come to nothing. FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL YISRA’EL, THAT ARE OF YISRA’EL. (Rom 9:5-6 RNWEB)

This is speaking of spiritual Yisrael, these are the ones that seek and learn the ways of Elohim through a Hebrew walking in the covenant of Elohim, remember in the book of Zechariah it says: “In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Hebrew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.'” (Zec 8:23)

Indeed you bear the name of a Hebrew, and rest on the law, and glory in Elohim, and know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, BEING INSTRUCTED OUT OF THE TORAH, (Rom 2:17-18 RNWEB)

To know Elohim’s will we must get our instruction from the law, the first five books of the bible. It’s not even possible to have a relationship with Elohim unless we know his name, and what he likes and dislikes, this is found in the law books.

AND ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU YOURSELF ARE A GUIDE OF THE BLIND, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babies, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth. (Rom 2:19-20 RNWEB)
For circumcision indeed profits, if you are a doer of the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. If therefore the uncircumcised keep the ordinances of the law, won’t his uncircumcision be accounted as circumcision? (Rom 2:25-26 RNWEB)

Remember they are not all Yisrael that are Yisrael, when talking about the spiritual Yisrael of Elohim we are referencing those who keep his covenant and are purified in the name of Yahshua.

Won’t the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfills the law, judge you, who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law? For he is not a Hebrew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh; BUT HE IS A HEBREW WHO IS ONE INWARDLY, AND CIRCUMCISION IS THAT OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not from men, but from Elohim. (Rom 2:27-29 RNWEB)
Indeed you bear the name of a Hebrew, and rest on the law, and glory in Elohim, and know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, BEING INSTRUCTED OUT OF THE TORAH (THE LAW BOOKS), AND ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU YOURSELF ARE A GUIDE OF THE BLIND, A LIGHT TO THOSE WHO ARE IN DARKNESS, A CORRECTOR OF THE FOOLISH, A TEACHER OF BABIES, HAVING IN THE LAW THE FORM OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF THE TRUTH. (Rom 2:17-20 RNWEB)

This type of attitude can easily be perceived as being arrogant. However, boldly speaking and teaching the word in confidence while knowing and giving the glory to Elohim is not contrary to his word.

We don’t know everything, however we are confident and grow in boldness. What we have learned was received as a blessing from Elohim so we might be transformed and possibly be the catalyst for someone else’s transformation. If we transmit this confidence and boldness when we speak it should not be perceived as arrogance or compromising humility.

Therefore when the Master knew that the Pharisees had heard that Yahshua was making and immersing more disciples than Yochanan (although Yahshua himself didn’t immerse, but his disciples), he left Judah, and departed into the Galil. He needed to pass through Samaria. So he came to a city of Samaria, called Shekhem, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Yosef. Jacob’s well was there. Yahshua therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Yahshua said to her, “Give me a drink.” For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. The Samariai woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Hebrew, ask for a drink from me, a Samariai woman?” (For Hebrews have no dealings with Samariai.) Yahshua answered her, “If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water? Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?” Yahshua answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.” Yahshua said to her, “GO, CALL YOUR HUSBAND, AND COME HERE.” (Joh 4:1-16 RNWEB)

He told her to get her husband, this had to go through the male for Yahshua to be following the proper protocol. He was already pushing it by having a discussion with a married woman in public, you didn’t do that with another mans wife.

The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Yahshua said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.” The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you say that in Yerushalayim is the place where people ought to worship.” Yahshua said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Yerushalayim, will you worship the Father. You worship that which you don’t know. WE WORSHIP THAT WHICH WE KNOW; FOR SALVATION IS FROM THE HEBREWS. (Joh 4:17-22 RNWEB)

Yahshua’s response could have been taken as arrogance, however was it, or did he just state the facts? Arrogance is an unjustifiable manner, behavior, or communication of something that can’t be substantiated or supported.

Then Pharisees and scribes came to Yahshua from Yerushalayim, saying, “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.” He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of Elohim because of your tradition? For Elohim commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to Elohim,” he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of Elohim void because of your tradition. You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.'” He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand. That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” Then the disciples came, and said to him, “DO YOU KNOW THAT THE PHARISEES WERE OFFENDED, WHEN THEY HEARD THIS SAYING?” (Mat 15:1-12 RNWEB)

Yahshua didn’t care that the Pharisees were offended, he had a job to do. There will always be people that don’t grasp the time of day, the season, and the manner of urgency in which the word has to be made understandable to the people. The time is short, so we need to act quickly with depth, strength, and boldness while having a proper understanding of his word.

having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (Col 2:15 RNWEB)

Yahshua was walking in the covenant, teaching the covenant, and was prepared to substantiate it. There was an urgent purpose, that’s why he told the man that wanted to bury his father before following him, let the dead bury the dead. Yahshua was probably perceived as being insensitive, but they didn’t understand the driving force behind his mandate. Mankind is obsessed with perception, feelings, thoughts and emotions and will find it hard to receive the word of a strong, confident, and bold teacher of the word. This is why Christianity is so popular, for the most part the teachers tickle the ears and cater to the listeners desires.

Thus says YAH, don’t let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don’t let the rich man glory in his riches; (Jer 9:23 RNWEB)

The wise, mighty, and rich should not be taking glory in things that are temporary.

but let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am YAH who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says YAH. (Jer 9:24 RNWEB)

We should only glory in having an understanding and knowledge of YAH, which is extremely rare. Our confidence and boldness rest in the fact that YAH is the one that exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on the earth.

The opportunity to walk in humility occurs every day, however will we put ourselves in a lower position to be reformed, corrected and chastened if necessary? We need to understand humility and arrogance according to Hebraic canon, we need to be able to put ourselves in a position where were always open to correction and not taking an unjustifiable place of superiority.

If we feel the need to correct a brother or sister, we must come to them with facts and examples carefully judged through the Torah and witness of the prophets, not assumptions and perceptions.

When you go forth to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, [and] a people more than you, you shall not be afraid of them; for YAH your Elohim is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. It shall be, when you draw near to the battle, that the Priest shall approach and speak to the people, AND SHALL TELL THEM, HEAR, YISRA’EL, YOU DRAW NEAR THIS DAY TO BATTLE AGAINST YOUR ENEMIES: DON’T LET YOUR HEART FAINT; DON’T BE AFRAID, NOR TREMBLE, NEITHER BE SCARED OF THEM; FOR YAH YOUR ELOHIM IS HE WHO GOES WITH YOU, TO FIGHT FOR YOU AGAINST YOUR ENEMIES, TO SAVE YOU. (Deu 20:1-4 RNWEB)
The officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, What man is there who is fearful and faint-hearted? let him go and return to his house, lest his brother’s heart melt as his heart. (Deu 20:8 RNWEB)

Weakness and fear are contagious, we need to do a self-analysis and fix ourselves before we try to give clear and effective utterance to the word of Elohim. We need to be bold, lift up our brethren, and show them our strength and confidence in the word.

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the Torah scholar of this world? Hasn’t Elohim made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1Co 1:20 RNWEB)

Everyone seeks the folly of this world, which results in them being high minded, haughty, and vain. When we begin to speak about biblical dynamics, the nations have no understanding, it’s complete foolishness to them.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with Elohim. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” And again, “YAH knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.” THEREFORE LET NO ONE BOAST IN MEN. For all things are yours, (1Co 3:18-21 RNWEB)

The world boasts in men, how many people follow self help guru’s like Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, Anthony Robbins and others? They are esteemed highly by many, and their being taught to focus their thoughts on being better, richer, and smarter, having bigger houses, better cars and more money. Scripture says YAH will add these things to us as we mature, however the world doesn’t want to work at walking in righteousness and follow the precepts and ordinances of Elohim, it’s not appealing and just to hard in their perception.

Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor together. My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart shall utter understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my riddle on the harp. Why should I fear in the days of evil, when lawlessness at my heels surrounds me? Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches– (Psa 49:1-6 RNWEB)

Remember, Elohim says if were going to boast it should be in our understanding and knowledge of him.

none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give Elohim a ransom for him. For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough, That he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption. For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves. But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish. This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah. They are appointed as a flock for grave. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in grave, far from their mansion. But Elohim will redeem my soul from the power of grave, for he will receive me. Selah. Don’t be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased. For when he dies he shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lived he blessed his soul– and men praise you when you do well for yourself– he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light. A MAN WHO HAS RICHES WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING, IS LIKE THE ANIMALS THAT PERISH. (Psa 49:7-20 RNWEB)

To have riches, wealth and esteem without the understanding of Elohim is no gain at all and is the same as the beast that perishes. The only true liberty, peace, stability and wealth starts with Elohim, if we follow his laws, precepts, and ordinances and have a knowledge and understanding of Him.

Thus says YAH of Armies, DON’T LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THE PROPHETS WHO PROPHESY TO YOU: THEY TEACH YOU VANITY; THEY SPEAK A VISION OF THEIR OWN HEART, AND NOT OUT OF THE MOUTH OF YAH. (Jer 23:16 RNWEB)

If we listen to false prophets, we will become corrupt, their words teach vanity, pride and false humility. The words come from within themselves, there speaking from the imaginations of their own heart.

They say continually to those who despise me, YAH has said, You shall have peace; and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come on you. For who has stood in the council of YAH, that he should perceive and hear his word? who has marked my word, and heard it? Behold, the storm of YAH, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, yes, a whirling storm: it shall burst on the head of the wicked. THE ANGER OF YAH SHALL NOT RETURN, UNTIL HE HAS EXECUTED, AND UNTIL HE HAVE PERFORMED THE INTENTS OF HIS HEART: IN THE LATTER DAYS YOU SHALL UNDERSTAND IT PERFECTLY. I SENT NOT THESE PROPHETS, YET THEY RAN: I DIDN’T SPEAK TO THEM, YET THEY PROPHESIED. BUT IF THEY HAD STOOD IN MY COUNCIL, THEN HAD THEY CAUSED MY PEOPLE TO HEAR MY WORDS, AND HAD TURNED THEM FROM THEIR EVIL WAY, AND FROM THE EVIL OF THEIR DOINGS. (Jer 23:17-22 RNWEB)

There is a large religious body currently teaching we don’t need to keep the laws of the Elohim because they have been nailed to the cross. They have built a theology on faith and affirmation, teaching that if we believe in Yahshua [aka Jesus] and say a short prayer we are saved.

Am I a Elohim at hand, says YAH, and not a Elohim afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says YAH. Don’t I fill heaven and earth? says YAH. I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name for Ba`al. The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? says YAH. Isn’t my word like fire? says YAH; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says YAH, who steal my words everyone from his neighbor. Behold, I AM AGAINST THE PROPHETS, SAYS YAH, WHO USE THEIR TONGUES, AND SAY, HE SAYS. BEHOLD, I AM AGAINST THOSE WHO PROPHESY LYING DREAMS, SAYS YAH, AND DO TELL THEM, AND CAUSE MY PEOPLE TO ERR BY THEIR LIES, AND BY THEIR VAIN BOASTING: YET I DIDN’T SEND THEM, NOR COMMANDED THEM; NEITHER DO THEY PROFIT THIS PEOPLE AT ALL, SAYS YAH. (Jer 23:23-32 RNWEB)
If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge. (Pro 19:27 RNWEB)

The scriptures say to the law and the prophets, if anyone speaks not according to this word there is no truth in them. (Isaiah 8:20)

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths. (Isa 3:12 RNWEB)

Our leaders cause us to err, because they make us vain by speaking lies and deceit, appeasing us by telling us what we want to here.

For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed. (Isa 9:16 RNWEB)
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their Elohim. (Hos 4:12 RNWEB)
Thus says YAH: “For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have rejected YAH’s law, and have not kept his statutes, and their lies have led them astray, after which their fathers walked; (Amo 2:4 RNWEB)

The reason people reject the word of Elohim today is there told by their religious leaders it was nailed to the cross and all we have to do now is confess Yahshua [aka Jesus] as our lord and savior to be saved. However, it says in James the demons believe this and shutter. The process is more involved than just belief, as James said, show me your belief by your works, in other words let me see what you believe by what you do, not by what you say.

When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of Elohim. For I determined not to know anything among you, except Yahshua the Anointed, and him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of Elohim. We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing. But we speak Elohim’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which Elohim foreordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Master of glory. But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these Elohim has prepared for those who love him.” But to us, Elohim revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of Elohim. For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of Elohim, except Elohim’s Spirit. But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from Elohim, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by Elohim. Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. NOW THE NATURAL MAN DOESN’T RECEIVE THE THINGS OF ELOHIM’S SPIRIT, FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS TO HIM, AND HE CAN’T KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one. (1Co 2:1-15 RNWEB)
“For who has known the mind of YAH, that he should instruct him?” But we have the Anointed’s mind. (1Co 2:16 RNWEB)

If we walk with the wise, will fair wisely, and if we walk with the fool will receive a fools reward. We need to have some depth in the word and stop treading in shallow waters.

Now this I say that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech. (Col 2:4 RNWEB)

We should speak in absolutes, not straying from the facts. If we understand the word of Elohim and it has properly taken root in us, we won’t be persuaded by people who delude us with persuasive speech and false doctrines.

Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary [false] humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (Col 2:18 RNWEB)

We shouldn’t be distracted by someone who persuades us by false humility to worship and pray to angels, this is what the nations do.

Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them. For those who are such don’t serve our Master, Yahshua the Anointed, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent. (Rom 16:17-18 RNWEB)

In other words, we have to stay away from people causing divisions and persuading people from the word of Elohim by teaching false doctrine with their smooth and flattering speech. Consequently, there going to tell us what we want to hear and make it sound like the truth, this happens every Sunday in Church. We can’t let there false humility persuade us, someone walking in true humility speaks the truth with boldness and confidence, even though it may not be what we want to hear.

But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned. IN COVETOUSNESS THEY WILL EXPLOIT YOU WITH DECEPTIVE WORDS: WHOSE SENTENCE NOW FROM OF OLD DOESN’T LINGER, AND THEIR DESTRUCTION WILL NOT SLUMBER. (2Pe 2:1-3 RNWEB)

These are individuals who come up with ideas on how to get more money from the people. In today’s church there is a lot of behind the scenes teaching to those in leadership positions on how to increase revenues in the church. They teach and show church leaders what to say to the people, so they are most likely to reach for their check books. This is the foolishness that occurs when the word of Elohim is nailed to a cross and man speaks from his own corrupt heart.

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever. For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of YAH; who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and to the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits. (Isa 30:8-10 RNWEB)

The people desired to hear deceits, things pleasing for them to hear. They wanted to hear how they would be blessed financially, how they could have whatever their heart desires, and how g_d has a plan for their lives. They were not interested in how to walk in righteousness and being sanctified by the word of Elohim.

Get out of the way. Turn aside from the path. Cause the Holy One of Yisra’el to cease from before us.” Therefore thus says the Holy One of Yisra’el, “Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on it; (Isa 30:11-12 RNWEB)

The word of Elohim promises us spiritual liberty and stability, however we will have to follow his process, the protocols created to make us righteous, and were going to have to stop trying to meet mans expectations, which change all the time and don’t align with the word of Elohim.

If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and doesn’t consent to sound words, the words of our Master Yahshua the Anointed, and to the doctrine which is according to obedience, he is conceited (proud), knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, (1Ti 6:3-4 RNWEB)

Those that are proud become obsessed with debates and disputes, this brings strife, envy, reviling, which have their roots in confrontation.

constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that obedience is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such. (1Ti 6:5 RNWEB)

This is speaking about people with corrupt minds, someone walking in humility will listen and do a content assessment on what was spoken to see if it’s valid, if it is, they will make the correction in their life, however if they determine it’s not they will thank the individual and move on to keep the peace. They will avoid an exchange, unless they were the one teaching and is being challenged that what there saying is false, then they will defend the faith with confidence and boldness through the word with great respect to the listener. They will be the first to withdraw if the discussion turns to confrontation knowing anything said at that point will only fuel the fire. They will respectfully thank the individual for sharing his views and walk away.

But obedience with contentment is great gain. (1Ti 6:6 RNWEB)

If we’re obedient and content in the word of Elohim we can walk away from confrontation and maintain our peace.

doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; (Php 2:3 RNWEB)
