The Kingdom I

The purpose of this study is to address several theological arguments about the Kingdom of Elohim. Our main focus will be on the existence of the Kingdom in this age, however we will also answer the following questions:

  • What and where is the Kingdom?
  • When is the Kingdom going to come?
  • Who inherits the Kingdom?
  • Who is promised to work in the Kingdom?
  • What are the steps to ushering in the Kingdom?
  • What is the difference between the Kingdom of Elohim and the Kingdom of heaven?

What we will discover is that many religious leaders are teaching and practicing there own interpretations and traditions, however in this study we will let the scripture speak for itself as we answer these questions.

Let’s start with a scripture that many religious leaders use to justify there teaching that when Yahshua came he brought in the kingdom of heaven, even though were still waiting to enter the kingdom of Elohim.

Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of Elohim would come, he answered them, “The Kingdom of Elohim doesn’t come with observation; neither will they say, ’Look, here!’ or, ’Look, there!’ for behold, the Kingdom of Elohim is in your midst.” (Luke 17:20-21 RNWEB)

This as an isolated verse seems to present a strong argument for there teaching, however it is important we contextualize scripture, and look at who asked the question, who’s responding, and when and why there responding. There are processes we need to use when studying scripture, they are based on Sinaitic precepts from the beginning to the end, but we have lived in a society for the last 1900 years that has primarily based there understanding on traditions and interpretations that have been propagated by Christianity. So what we end up doing is reading scripture with these preconceived ideas even though they may not make sense. This specific verse is the only one they use to validate there doctrine on this question, so we will look at what the scripture as a whole says about the subject.

In the first year of Belshatzar king of Babel Daniyel had a dream and visions of his head on his bed: then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters. Daniyel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the sky broke forth on the great sea. (Daniel 7:1-2 RNWEB)

The four winds of heaven represent angels and the sea represents people.

Four great animals came up from the sea, diverse one from another. (Daniel 7:3 RNWEB)

Four great nations came up from amongst the people and they were all different.

The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I saw until the wings of it were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand on two feet as a man; and a man’s heart was given to it. Behold, another animal, a second, like a bear; and it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth: and they said thus to it, Arise, devour much flesh. (Daniel 7:4-5 RNWEB)

The first two kingdoms being described are the Babylonian and Medo-Persian empires.

After this I saw, and behold, another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird; the animal had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. (Daniel 7:6 RNWEB)

This is talking about Alexander the Greats empire, which at his death was split into four parts, each part ruled by one of his generals.

After this I saw in the night visions, and, behold, a fourth animal, awesome and powerful, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet: and it was diverse from all the animals that were before it; and it had ten horns. (Daniel 7:7 RNWEB)

This was the Roman empire that was ruled by the Caesars.

I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots: and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things. I saw until thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat: his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, [and] the wheels of it burning fire. (Daniel 7:8-9 RNWEB)

The garments being “white as snow” represents righteousness and purity.

A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. (Daniel 7:10 RNWEB)

An innumerable number of angels are standing before him and court is in session.

I saw at that time because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke; I saw even until the animal was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire. As for the rest of the animals, their dominion was taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. There was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:11-14 RNWEB)

If Yahshua brought in the Kingdom we were reading about in prophecy, how then did he come into his kingdom, since he was killed? To properly contextualize any subject we must start in the old testament and conclude in the new, because the new testament should be confirming the things which have been or are being fulfilled.

In the days of those kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall the sovereignty of it be left to another people; but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. (Daniel 2:44 RNWEB)
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be you glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Yerushalayim a rejoicing, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Yerushalayim, and joy in my people; and there shall be heard in her no more the voice of weeping and the voice of crying. There shall be no more there an infant of days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall be the days of my people, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for calamity; for they are the seed of the blessed of YAH, and their offspring with them. It shall happen that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says YAH. (Isaiah 65:17-25 RNWEB)

This is describing the conditions of what will be occurring when we enter the Kingdom, have you ever seen a lion eating straw?

In Luke 17:20-21 the scripture we opened with can’t be read and taken out of context to develop a doctrine, we need to read all the things that lead up to it to make sure it is being properly understood.

A shoot will come out of the stock of Yishai, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of YAH will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAH. His delight will be in the fear of YAH. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked. Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist. The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat; The calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them. The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox. The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of YAH, as the waters cover the sea. It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Yishai, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious. It will happen in that day that YAH will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Ashur, from Egypt, from Patros, from Kush, from ’Elam, from Shin’ar, from Chamat, and from the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Yisra’el, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. (Isaiah 11:1-12 RNWEB)

Were reading about the conditions of the kingdom in the first five verses and the Kingdom starts with the ushering in of Yahshua. When this Kingdom is established children will be able to play with vipers, a lion will eat straw like an ox, and all the sons of Yisrael that have been scattered will be brought back to the land that was promised to them. These things have not yet happened.

This is what Isaiah the son of Amotz saw concerning Judah and Yerushalayim. It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of YAH’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of YAH, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Tziyon the law shall go forth, and the word of YAH from Yerushalayim. (Isaiah 2:1-3 RNWEB)

The mountain of YAH currently has a Islamic temple sitting on top, it will be replaced by a Hebrew temple and the mountain will be rededicated to YAH when the Kingdom comes.

He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4 RNWEB)

There will be no war or no need for weapons when the Kingdom comes, the earth will be at peace.

Behold, there was a man in Yerushalayim whose name was Simon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Yisra’el, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen YAH’s Anointed. He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Yahshua, that they might do concerning him according to the requirement of the Torah, (Luke 2:25-27 RNWEB)

Simon had prayed and petitioned the Most High to see Yisrael’s salvation, and he was brought to Yahshua by the spirit, who was in the temple for his 8th day circumcision as required by the law.

then he received him into his arms, and blessed Elohim, and said, “Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace; for my eyes have seen your salvation, (Luke 2:28-30 RNWEB)

This salvation is what the children of Yisrael were waiting for, and holding on to.

Thus says YAH, Keep justice, and do righteousness; for my salvation is close to coming, and my righteousness to be revealed. (Isaiah 56:1 RNWEB)

This scripture was read every Sabbath in the synagogues so the people knew what to expect, and the conditions that would exist when it’s prophetic fulfillment comes.

for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared before the face of all peoples; a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Yisra’el.” Yosef and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him, and Simon blessed them, and said to Miriam, his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Yisra’el, and for a sign which is spoken against. Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” There was one Chanah, a prophetess, the daughter of Penu’el, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshipping with fastings and petitions night and day. Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to YAH, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Yerushalayim. (Luke 2:30-38 RNWEB)

There were many of the children of Yisrael waiting for the Anointed, it was only a few that didn’t believe in him.

When they had accomplished all things that were according to the Torah of YAH, they returned into the Galil, to their own city, Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the grace of Elohim was upon him. (Luke 2:39-40 RNWEB)

Some versions of the bible say “strong in the spirit,” rather than just “became strong,” “strong in the spirit” was never in the original text and we know that Yahshua didn’t receive the Spirit until he was purified.

Yosef of Ramatayim, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of Elohim, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Yahshua’s body. (Mark 15:43 RNWEB)

Notice it says that Yosef was “also” looking for the Kingdom of Elohim, showing there were apparently many Hebrews looking for the Kingdom to come, it was the hope of Yisrael.

Being assembled together with them, he charged them, “Don’t depart from Yerushalayim, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me. For Yochanan indeed purified in water, but you will be purified in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Master, are you now restoring the kingdom to Yisra’el?” (Acts 1:4-6 RNWEB)

The Hebrews were not waiting to go off to heaven, everyone at this time, including the Apostles were waiting for the Kingdom to come to earth.

He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within His own authority. (Acts 1:7 RNWEB)

We have now established a foundation that there is a promised Kingdom that will come and exist forever. It will be ruled by the prophesied king, who will reign forever, and when it arrives there will not only be peace between men but also the wild beasts of the earth.

But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in king’s houses. But why did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet. For this is he, of whom it is written, ’Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ Most certainly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than Yochanan the immerser; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he. FROM THE DAYS OF YOCHANAN THE IMMERSER UNTIL NOW, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and violent men are trying to take it by force. (Matthew 11:8-12 RNWEB)

There were individuals designated to usher in the Kingdom, however there were also violent people opposing it. We will see it’s a three step process to get to the final stage of what has been written by the prophets.

Notice this is specifically speaking of Yochanan the purifier, from the time he came until this was spoken, why this duration? Were going to look at this further as we proceed.

The Torah and the Prophets were until Yochanan. From that time the Good News of the Kingdom of Elohim is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tiny stroke of a pen in the Torah to become void. (Luke 16:17 RNWEB)

It says the Kingdom of Elohim is preached, Yahshua said to the Pharisees that the Kingdom of Elohim does not come by observation but the Kingdom of Elohim is in your midst. It also says the law and the prophets were to Yochanan, since that time the kingdom of Elohim is preached and every man is pressing into it.

The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of YAH in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our Elohim. (Isaiah 40:3 RNWEB)

Yochanan is being prophesied as coming to prepare the way in the sixth day, the day of preparation. Yochanan was the one that called out to tell everyone one it was time to get ready, were in the sixth day and we need to get ready for the seventh. He came to prepare the way into the Kingdom and was explaining its dynamics.

Behold, I will send you Eliyahu the prophet before the great and terrible day of YAH comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” (Malachi 4:5-6 RNWEB)
But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zekharyah, because your request has been heard, and your wife, Elisheva, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Yochanan. (Luke 1:13 RNWEB)

Yochanan means YAH’s grace.
Yahshua means YAH is Salvation
Grace always comes before Salvation.

You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of YAH, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. He will turn many of the children of Yisra’el to YAH, their Elohim. He will go before him in the spirit and power of Eliyahu, ’to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for YAH.” (Luke 1:14-17 RNWEB)
In those days, Yochanan the immerser came, preaching in the wilderness of Judah, saying, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of YAH. Make his paths straight.” (Matthew 3:1-3 RNWEB)

Yochanan was the one that said to repent because the Kingdom of heaven was within reach.

From that time, Yahshua began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17 RNWEB)

Yahshua is saying the same thing as Yochanan. Remember that Yahshua said to the Pharisees that the Kingdom of heaven does not come by observation, but it’s in your midst.

Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. All the multitudes were amazed, and said, “Can this be the son of David?” But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Ba’al-Zibbul, the prince of the demons.” Knowing their thoughts, Yahshua said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? If I by Ba’al-Zibbul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of Elohim cast out demons, then the Kingdom of Elohim has come upon you. (Matthew 12:22-28 RNWEB)

Yahshua is saying your witnessing kingdom power if I cast out Spirits by the power of Elohim. We cannot take this verse to mean were actually in the Kingdom because we have already read what to expect when the Kingdom comes in prophecy and they have not occurred yet. This scripture may be ambiguous [open to debate] concerning the Kingdom of Elohim, so we need to examine his words so we can understand what he is really saying.

The dividing point would be those things that are spiritually done by the kingdom of heaven and the things that are tangible and can be seen, which is what most people are looking for in terms of the Kingdom being on earth. For example in Isaiah it says the lion shall eat straw, which would be an indicator of the coming Kingdom, where here were talking about a spiritual act through the power of the Spirit that endowed Yahshua, which demonstrates the power of the Kingdom in our presence through a man, but is not a tangible evidence that the kingdom of Elohim has come to earth.

Now after these things, the Master also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place, where he was about to come. Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to YAH of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest. (Luke 10:1-2 RNWEB)

The Harvest is truly great, and many are deceived who are in darkness, but where are the teachers [laborers], the ones who provide understanding of the covenant.

Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves. Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way. Into whatever house you enter, first say, ’Peace be to this house.’ If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house. Into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you. Heal the sick who are therein, and tell them, ’The Kingdom of Elohim has come near to you.’ (Luke 10:3-9 RNWEB)

This is the same thing the Levite’s did in the old covenant, they lived off the people. The new covenant is the very same thing, whatever the people gave freely is what they would use for their necessities, these are free will offerings, nowhere did Yahshua ever tell them to ask for money or demand a tenth.

He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. It happened, when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marveled. But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Ba’al-Zibbul, the prince of the demons.” Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven. But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Ba’al-Zibbul. But if I cast out demons by Ba’al-Zibbul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges. But if I by the finger of Elohim cast out demons, then the Kingdom of Elohim has come to you. (Luke 11:14-20 RNWEB)
When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside. (Matthew 13:19 RNWEB)

Remember Yahshua said the kingdom of heaven does not come by observation, but is in your midst.

He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away. But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also. The servants of the householder came and said to him, ’Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did this darnel come from?’ “He said to them, ’An enemy has done this.’ “The servants asked him, ’Do you want us to go and gather them up?’ “But he said, ’No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.” He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, until it was all leavened.” Yahshua spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them, (Matthew 13:24-34 RNWEB)

If we entered the kingdom when Yahshua came why is he giving parables of what to expect and how it will be.

He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and them which do Law-less-ness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 13:37-43 RNWEB)

The Devil was the one that sowed the adversary amongst you, the tares look like wheat and the adversary can come like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The lawless are thrown into the fire and the righteous are likened to the Kingdom of their Father, the Kingdom of their father or Kingdom of Elohim can be used interchangeably with Kingdom of Heaven.

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet, that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind, which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away. So will it be in the end of the world. The angels will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.” Yahshua said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They answered him, “Yes, Master.” He said to them, “Therefore, every scribe who has been made a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings out of his treasure new and old things.” (Matthew 13:47-52 RNWEB)

It says every scribe or disciple should bring forth his treasure from old and new, it’s talking about the old and new covenant. The old did not completely pass away, just the sacrificial system, and that was replaced with the sacrifice of a man in the new covenant.

The difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and The kingdom of Elohim is nothing, it’s only the difference of words used between writers. Matthew uses Kingdom of Heaven predominantly in his epistle, however Mark, Luke, and John use Kingdom of Elohim when reciting the very same verses in their epistles. As we go through Matthew we see he uses the terms interchangeably where in the parallel verses in the other gospels Kingdom of Elohim is used exclusively.

When one of those who sat at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will feast in the Kingdom of Elohim!” (Luke 14:15 RNWEB)

Not everyone will be able to feast in the Kingdom of Elohim so blessed is he that does.

But he said to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many people. He sent out his servant at supper time to tell those who were invited, ’Come, for everything is ready now.’ They all as one began to make excuses. “The first said to him, ’I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’ “Another said, ’I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.’ “Another said, ’I have married a wife, and therefore I can’t come.’ “That servant came, and told his master these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ’Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.’ “The servant said, ’Master, it is done as you commanded, and there is still room.’ “The master said to the servant, ’Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.’” Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple. (Luke 14:16-26 RNWEB)

What Yahshua is offering through this parable is the invitation to the Kingdom. Getting into the Kingdom is a process and many will say they are to busy and have other things to do. Our passion needs to be to for Elohim and everything else is secondary.

Whoever doesn’t bear his own burden, and come after me, can’t be my disciple. (Luke 14:27 RNWEB)

This is simply saying what’s your excuse, we should bear whatever burdens we use as excuses and set our eyes on the kingdom and make Elohim first place. It’s important not to let the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and lusts of other things choke the word we have and send us off course.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him, saying, ’This man began to build, and wasn’t able to finish.’ Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace. So therefore whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple. Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Luke 14:28-35 RNWEB)

To reiterate, Yahshua is saying the Kingdom comes first and everything else must take second place.

Yahshua answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come. Again he sent out other servants, saying, ’Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have made ready my dinner. My oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’ But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise, and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them. When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. “Then he said to his servants, ’The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren’t worthy. Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.’ Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing, (Matthew 22:1-11 RNWEB)

Notice a man came without a wedding garment.

and he said to him, ’Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ’Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’ For many are called, but few chosen.” (Matthew 22:12-14 RNWEB)

Many are called but few are chosen, so what we need to know is what the process and criteria is to be chosen. The man in the parable showed up because he was called, however he is missing something, he was not prepared for the feast, which parallels not being prepared for the Kingdom.

“Woe to the rebellious children,” says YAH, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin, (Isaiah 30:1 RNWEB)

Elohim’s council is found from Genesis to Malachi, rebellious children are not following his council and they are making alliances with the wrong Spirit.

I will greatly rejoice in YAH, my soul shall be joyful in my Elohim; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (Isaiah 61:10 RNWEB)

The man who showed up at the wedding feast without a garment was lacking something, and were presenting an image from scripture of what that was.

If then you were raised together with the Anointed, seek the things that are above, where the Anointed is, seated on the right hand of Elohim. (Colossians 3:1 RNWEB)

If we are in the anointed we should seek the things that are not temporary or earthly but those things which are eternal that come from above.

Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. (Colossians 3:2 RNWEB)

We must be focused on the word of Elohim and not the things the nations focus on.

For you died, and your life is hidden with the Anointed in Elohim. When the Anointed, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory. Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of Elohim comes on the children of disobedience. You also once walked in those, when you lived in them; but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, (Colossians 3:3-9 RNWEB)

Putting off the old man and putting on the new is changing your garments, we do this by renewing our mind with the word of Elohim.

and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, (Colossians 3:10 RNWEB)

It’s only by renewing our mind with the word of Elohim that we can form an image and understand the code of ethics of our creator.

that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error; (Ephesians 4:14 RNWEB)

There are many people that follow the doctrines presented to them by men and accept them as truth. There is very little discernment taking place and people tend to be swayed by things that tickle there ears, such as the health and wealth doctrines that have become so popular. Doctrines that promote covetousness, pride, and arrogance are not the ways of the Kingdom of Elohim. Our primary responsibility is not to listen to preachers, it is to study to show ourselves approved, when doctrine is being presented it should not be wrapped in mysteries, and it should never disagree with any other part of scripture.

but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, the Anointed; from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love. This I say therefore, and testify in YAH, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts; who having become callous gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you did not learn the Anointed that way; if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Yahshua: that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, (Ephesians 4:15-23 RNWEB)

The scriptures tell us to renew our minds after the image of our creator, and to not be tossed by every wind of doctrine, and cleverly devised fables. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds, after the image of him who created us. Yahshua was a man that exemplified reverent behavior and attributes when he walked on the earth, that’s why he was able to say, if you have seen me you have seen the father, he exemplified the fathers code of ethics here on the earth and we should be doing the same.

“And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: “He who has the seven Spirits of Elohim, and the seven stars says these things: “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. (Revelation 3:1 RNWEB)

Elohim knows our works, this is important because there is large ecclesiastical body that say we are saved by grace alone, however all through scripture we see that we will be judged by works. Works are the fruit of what we our, they expose what’s truly in the heart, this fruit either bears witness to the truth or it doesn’t.

Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my Elohim. (Revelation 3:2 RNWEB)

These people heard the call but did not meet the requirements to be chosen. They only did some of what they were supposed to do, they learn the way, however they didn’t apply what they learned. There are many people that like to gather knowledge and will drift from one place to another trying to find it, however they never set roots down and apply what they learned. For lack of a better term they are repositories of information that lack understanding and application. Our objective should be to find a place where we can receive spiritual substance through the oracles of Elohim and apply them while having the support and encouragement of our constituents to help us with the application because no one is perfect and we all need help staying focused at times.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you. Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. (Revelation 3:3-4 RNWEB)

The process is to be washed by the word first, then by water to enter the covenant, and finally we must remain clean, our garments must be white.

He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Revelation 3:5 RNWEB)

It’s only those who overcome trials and tribulations that will be arrayed in white garments, remember what Sha’ul said, through much tribulation we shall enter the kingdom. Noah could have claimed to be saved by grace, however if he didn’t build the boat he would have drowned with the others, we must show are faith by our works.

I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Halleluyah! For YAH our Elohim, the Almighty, reigns! Let us rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and let us give the glory to him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his wife has made herself ready.” It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the holy ones. (Revelation 19:6-8 RNWEB)

The fine linen is the righteous acts of the holy ones, so lets see what righteousness is.

YAH commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear YAH our Elohim, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day. It shall be righteousness to us, if we observe to do all this commandment before YAH our Elohim, as he has commanded us. (Deuteronomy 6:24-25 RNWEB)

Our righteousness is defined by our submission to the code of ethics of the Most High. We must observe and guard all his commandments as instructed in the first five books of the bible.

Here is the patience of the righteous, those who keep the commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Yahshua.” (Revelation 14:12 RNWEB)

To be righteous we must keep the commandments and have faith in the atoning sacrifice of Yahshua the anointed for the propitiation of our sins, which we receive through purification in his name.

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both Elohim and Mammon. Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? “Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Shlomo in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if Elohim so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ’What will we eat?’, ’What will we drink?’ or, ’With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first Elohim’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient. (Matthew 6:24-34 RNWEB)

We were told to seek after the Kingdom of Elohim, so we must not be in it. There is no reason to seek after something if you already have it.

He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and Elohim feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds! Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Shlomo in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if this is how Elohim clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek Elohim’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you. Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. Sell that which you have, and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches, neither moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning. Be like men watching for their master, when he returns from the marriage feast; that, when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him. Blessed are those servants, whom the master will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you, that he will dress himself, and make them recline, and will come and serve them. They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch, and finds them so. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.” (Luke 12:22-40 RNWEB)
He said to them, “When you pray, say, ’Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on Earth, as it is in heaven. (Luke 11:2 RNWEB)

Yahshua when he gave us the model for prayer told us to pray for the kingdom to come, if it was here already there would be no need for this.

“Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it. How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to me, ’Master, Master,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:13-21 RNWEB)

It’s only the ones that do the will of the father in heaven that will enter the Kingdom of Elohim. The father told us all to be obedient to his word, the instructions for entering the Kingdom are found in the first five books of the bible.

Many will tell me in that day, ’Master, Master, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ (Matthew 7:22 RNWEB)

There are only two groups of people that look at Yahshua as Master, Christians and Messianic Hebrews.

Then I will tell them, ’I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:23 RNWEB)

The only one of these two that does not follow the law are the Christians. The individual that showed up for the wedding without the proper garments had not done those things that were prescribed by the law, he heard the call and may have received some knowledge but never applied it. The scripture is clear that those who enter the Kingdom must be transformed by the word of Elohim, the word does us no good if it’s not applied.

When he came into Peterr-Nachum, a centurion came to him, asking him, (Matthew 8:5 RNWEB)

This was a gentile that was looking for Yahshua.

and saying, “Master, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.” Yahshua said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered, “Master, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ’Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ’Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ’Do this,’ and he does it.” When Yahshua heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Yisra’el. I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven, (Matthew 8:6-11 RNWEB)

If Yahshua brought in the Kingdom of Elohim where is Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? It’s probably clear by now that the answer to the question about the Kingdom being brought in by Yahshua is no, we don’t have any of the tangible evidences given in scripture, but lets continue with this and look at some other things.

but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Yahshua said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour. (Matthew 8:12-13 RNWEB)

We will look in more detail at the children of the Kingdom being thrown into outer darkness in part two.

When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?” Yahshua answered them, “I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things. The immersion of Yochanan, where was it from? From heaven or from men?” They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ’From heaven,’ he will ask us, ’Why then did you not believe him?’ (Matthew 21:23-25 RNWEB)

Yochanan was the first one to arise and say repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Were looking at the process and steps to usher in the Kingdom and the very first thing that goes out is the word from heaven, which was the process on how to enter the Kingdom of heaven.

But if we say, ’From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all hold Yochanan as a prophet.” They answered Yahshua, and said, “We don’t know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, ’Son, go work today in my vineyard.’ He answered, ’I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went. He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, ’I go, sir,’ but he didn’t go. (Matthew 21:26-30 RNWEB)

To say we’re going to follow the covenant and don’t, does us no good. There’s no point in articulating the nuances of the Sinaitic system if it’s not going to be applied. We need to be walking witnesses, words are meaningless, our works display who we are. A thief can say he is not a thief however if he steals what are you going to believe?

Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him, “The first.” Yahshua said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of Elohim before you. For Yochanan came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him. (Matthew 21:31-32 RNWEB)
One of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together. Knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the greatest of all?” Yahshua answered, “The greatest is, ’Hear, Yisra’el, YAH our Elohim, YAH is one: (Mark 12:28-29 RNWEB)

Notice it says “Hear, Yisrael”, if were not listening the rest is meaningless.

you shall love YAH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. The second is like this, ’You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31 RNWEB)

The first commandment has to do with our love and allegiance to the Most High, so we don’t worship anything or anyone else, including Jesus, it sums up the laws of Holiness, the second sums up the laws of morality and human relations to show us how to interact, serve, forgive, love, and help one another.

The scribe said to him, “Truly, teacher, you have said well that he is one, and there is none other but he, and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Yahshua saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the Kingdom of Elohim.” No one dared ask him any question after that. (Mark 12:32-34 RNWEB)

He understood this was the process, repent because the Kingdom of Elohim is near, now, and in your midst. The first thing that Yochanan and Yahshua brought was the word of Elohim, which is the first thing we need to enter the Kingdom, because it’s the process or instructions for getting in. It’s these two commandments that all the laws and the prophets rest on, because they sum up about 450 laws, statutes, and ordinances that we must follow. This is how we enter the kingdom, and Yochanan is communicating this to everyone.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 5:3 RNWEB)
He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of Elohim. (Luke 6:20 RNWEB)

These two verses are saying the exact same thing by different writers. To be poor in spirit is to walk in humility.

Yahshua said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim.” (Matthew 19:23-24 RNWEB)
Yahshua looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim!” The disciples were amazed at his words. But Yahshua answered again, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim! It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim.” (Mark 10:23-25 RNWEB)

It’s not those that are wealthy, but those who trust in there wealth that this is speaking about.

If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehinnom of fire. (Matthew 18:9 RNWEB)

The eye represents discernment, if it’s limiting you from making good decisions, judgement, or discernment pluck it out.

If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the Kingdom of Elohim with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehinnom of fire, (Mark 9:47 RNWEB)

This verse parallels the one before and notice entering life is equated with entering the Kingdom of Elohim.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation. “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter. (Matthew 23:13-14 RNWEB)

Yahshua is telling the Pharisees they are hypocrites, who keep the kingdom from others by not teaching the proper way, they won’t enter and they keep others from entering. This is happening today, the Church is teaching a way into the kingdom that is not the process presented by the Most High, so there keeping others from entering and they won’t enter themselves.

Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces. (Luke 11:43 RNWEB)

They love prestige and being honored.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.” (Luke 11:44 RNWEB)
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zekharyah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation. Woe to you Torah scholars! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.” (Luke 11:51-52 RNWEB)

This is talking about entering the Kingdom of Elohim, and the Torah scholars are supposed to be experts in the law, however Yahshua is telling them that there not teaching people the law, just there traditions. This is still happening today.
